No. In fact, many advantages can be gained by skipping the Temporary Protective Order hearing. The court can only enter a Temporary Protective Order for seven days in your absence and will set the Final Protective Order hearing, when you can appear and defend yourself with the advantage of additional time to prepare for your hearing.
Hearings are generally held at the Rockville District Court (191 E. Jefferson St) or the Montgomery County Circuit Court (50 Maryland Ave). You have to consult the Temporary Protective Order that was served on you to see the place, date, and time of your Final Protective Order hearing.
